The news has been going around for some time that there will be no cost of living adjustment in Social Security benefits (including retirement and disability benefits) for the next two years, 2010 and 2011. However, it looks like the real amount of benefits will actually decrease for many.
The trustees who oversee Social Security are projecting there won’t be a cost of living adjustment (COLA) for the next two years. … By law, Social Security benefits cannot go down. Nevertheless, monthly payments would drop for millions of people in the Medicare prescription drug program because the premiums, which often are deducted from Social Security payments, are scheduled to go up slightly.

Keep in mind that if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and not Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), then you are receiving Medicaid, not Medicare and not subject to this premium increase. However, your benefits in the next two years are also locked and will not increase.

I am sure if ssa increases due to cola and those who did not allow the COLA we will soon forget ssa and it will simply stop. I live in a great country after working 53 years to come to this! Thank you USA. Our govt really knows how to get any money you have.

you are right its not right were we should get a raze for the coast of living and the gas is going up again and food what do we have to get food stamps so we can eat and all the bills we have now what are we all going to do some one is geting rich out there look at all of the rich people out there with new cars new houses and you wounder were is all the money going out there in the wourld not fare not right so lets hope they well do some thing about get this year and so on all i can say its not right
Maybe if all these big wigs would spend less money on polictical parties, and all the money given to Professional sports players we might have more money. You can not convince me that any one person who plays a sport or is in the government should get millions and millions of dollars.

Back again we need to let our elected Officals Are doing the right thing by posting in the paper or find some way to let his supporter are doing and voted on and the ones that are waisting our money we find some one to run against this elected offical doing and get rid of him or her. Get a waste basket out and take out the waste one by one. They were elected by the people for the people. Look and read about our elected officals that been there for years, do we want that to repersent us. They laugh at us behind closed doors as they are making deals. Some have been up there for 40 years can hardly talk and walk, who is actual voting for these men.
Just because someone has a nice car and a nice house does not nessesarily make them rich. I have a nice home because I take care of it and I have a nice vehicle because the Lord has blessed us with theon we needed, but worldy I am poor as dirt,…..but spiritually I am a child of the King.
