  • Debi Hendricks

I was married in 1988, and my then husband became disabled until his death in 1993. He received Disability Social Security and so did I until our son reached the age of 16. I then married another man in 1994, then divorced him in 1996. A few years ago, he started receiving Disability Social Security and is still receiving it.

If I get remarried to this man again, that is receiving Disability Social Security, would I be able to receive Social Security if he dies before I do, even though we may only be married for a few years before his death?
    Thanks,
    Debi

Hi Debi. Thanks for commenting on the website!

Unfortunately, my office cannot offer legal advice or perform case evaluations via comments or email.

However, you pose an interesting question which would make for a great future article.

My daughter has Peripheral Neuropathy. She is in consatant pain and is unable to work. Is she eligible for SSI?

  • http://www.SocialSecurityInsider.com/ TomaszStasiuk

I can't comment on your daughter's chances, but I have done a number of disability cases based on peripheral neuropathy. It certainly can be the basis for disability.
